Diamond Sourcing

At G. Collins & Sons, we take great pride in our commitment to ethical practices and responsible sourcing. Our diamonds are obtained exclusively from regions that adhere to stringent ethical standards, ensuring that the entire supply chain upholds principles of fairness, sustainability, and social responsibility. By prioritising ethical sourcing, we aim to contribute to the global effort of promoting transparency and accountability in the jewellery industry.

Our Standards

We ensure that every stone is ethically sourced and conflict-free.

In 2002, global governments adopted the Kimberley Process, an agreement designed to regulate the trade of rough diamonds and prevent their use in conflict zones. This initiative mandates strict controls to guarantee that each diamond shipment comprises only certified stones, each uniquely numbered and securely sealed.

As a proud member of the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ), G. Collins & Sons remains steadfast in its dedication to eradicating the trade in conflict diamonds.

Our Gold

At G. Collins & Sons, we are committed to providing you with full transparency and traceability for your jewellery pieces. Our bullion supplier solely supplies single-mine origin gold. Every gram weight of their gold can be traced to mines that are accredited with the highest responsibility standards.

Additionally, all our jewellery pieces are handmade inside our in-house workshop in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Our skilled artisans and goldsmiths play a crucial role in the responsible collection and recycling of all gold particles and surplus precious metals from their workbench skins. This conscientious approach not only minimises waste, but also actively contributes to the sustainable gold supply chain with minimal waste.

Our Gemstone Sourcing

Harry and Josh Collins have built up a widespread and enviable network of respected and trustworthy suppliers and contacts, all of whom are aware of their specific values and requirements in relation to the sourcing of gems.

G. Collins & Sons have a long-term relationship with our artisanal gemstone supplier, who sources gemstones and supports a mine-to-market concept. He has built a solid working relationship with local miners in several locations across the globe that goes back nearly 40 years, and both have invested through small scale mining.

Supporting The Future Generation

G. Collins & Sons are proud to be supporting and leading the future of handcrafting through the training of young individuals who work alongside and are mentored by master goldsmiths, who have decades of experience, including working on the Crown Jewels and Her Majesty The Queen's personal collection. Such mentorship not only preserves traditional craftsmanship, but also ensures the transfer of valuable skills and knowledge to the next generation of our craftspeople.

By investing in the training and development of young artisans, G. Collins & Sons is contributing to the continuity of hand craftsmanship and helping these individuals build a strong foundation for their careers. This approach not only preserves the artistry and expertise within the industry but also fosters a sense of pride and tradition.
