Cloisonné Enamel
Ultra-fine gold wires, often measuring less than 0.5 mm in thickness, are carefully shaped by hand to form an intricate design and then fixed onto a metal base coated with enamel. After an initial firing, each compartment created by the wires is filled with precisely chosen enamel pigments. The piece may undergo multiple firings, depending on the colours and desired visual effect, gradually intensifying the hues and enhancing the remarkable sense of depth and translucency
